notes from monsoon

watching the rain, letting it conquer our days and moods
listening to the storm sing lullabies through the night
drinking turmeric milk
enduring a moonless, wordless spell
meeting unimaginable kindness in a stranger’s heart. offering it my silent obeisance.
enriching our nest with rain-drenched wildflowers
vaporizing eucalyptus, lavender, tea tree, and orange essential oils
introspecting

let my thoughts come to you
when I am gone
like the afterglow of sunset
at the margin of starry silence
